Modern Warfare 3 Empty Modern Warfare 3

Having played and completed the first two instalments of the Modern Warfare series, I was very keen to get my hands of the final version of this series to find out how it ends. If you have not played Modern Warfare 2 yet, I wont spoil it for you, but it ends on a real cliff hanger. So if you havent played number 3 yet, then you really need to.

    Game play

If you have played the first two Modern Warfare's, then you will find the game play extremely familiar. I have not noticed any major differences from number 2 in terms of controls, HUD and general game play. There are however, lots of different guns in this game, and some familiar ones. My favourite being the RSASS. I found it extremely powerful in the campaign, and anyone who loves using snipers should look out for it.

As well as the Special Ops missions as in MW2, there is a new mode that they have added called survival mode. The whole objective in this mode is just to survive wave after wave of enemies. You select a map to play on, and then try to survival as long as possible against infantry, air support and heavy infantry.
    Game Play: 9/10

    Basic Storyline

The story continues off from the second, with Soap and Price chasing after Russian ultra nationalist Vladamir Makarov. You follow them across the world, from India to Germany. The small team will stop at nothing to get their hands on Makarov. They have to stop the mad Russian from starting WW3. Makarov initiates massive terror attack on major cities around the world, and the team know they only have a small amount of time to track him down.
    Storyline: 7/10

    Graphics

If it doesnt need improving, why change it? The graphics in MW2 were extremely good, and I havent noticed any really differences. If you liked the MW2 graphics, you will like them here. I this they the graphics are easily one of the best around right now. The attention to detail is really good.
    Graphics: 9/10

    Online

Online is probably the biggest selling point of the MW series, maybe even more so that the campaign. You will never struggle to find a game online. The level system works the same as in MW2. Gain levels through experience, and prestige and start again. You can gain weapons upgrades by completing challenges with different weapons. I have found the online experience extremely fun. They have also added 3 new game modes, Kill Confimed, Drop Zone and Team Defender. In the Kill Confirmed game mode, you must pick up the dropped dog tags from dead enemies to score your team points. In Drop Zone, you must hold an area, like domination and headquarters, and every 15 seconds, a care package will drop. In Team Defender, both teams try to capture a flag dropped by the first person who gets killed when the match starts, and hold it to gain double points per kill while the team without the flag only gets the default amount per kill.
    Online: 10/10

    Overall

Overall, this is a very good game, and if you enjoy the Modern Warfare series, it is a must get. It is a really fun and enjoyable game, and brings the series to a close. Which is a shame because I was enjoying the series, but all good things must end I guess. Even once the storyline is completed, you will find yourself always playing it online.
    Overall 9/10

It isn't a bad game, it is a very good high quality title. I just feel that the series has stagnated in terms of innovation, it needs change.

Good review. I am not a fan of the Modern Warfare series. Out of the 3 COD'S that I have played, I think BO is the best.

As much as I love the series, I feel that 9/10 for story is a bit much. The only COD that's come close to that is the CoD4 campaign.

And if that is 9/10, where does that put Skyrim? ME1/2/3? I'd have given it maybe 6/7 out of 10.

Online is top though, and most of the rest of the review is spot on. Good work mate.

I'd say 5 or 6 out of 10 as it's the same thing as the past few years. Cod 4 the best for me
